Vietti: Tradition and elegance in the Piedmont wine world

Vietti is a prominent winemaker in the Piedmont region of Italy, known for producing some of the finest Barolo and Barbera wines. The company has been around since the early 20th century and has been a pioneering force in innovation and quality in Italian winemaking. Vietti has gained international recognition for its deep understanding of terroir and ability to create wines that reflect the unique qualities of their sites. They are also known for their commitment to sustainable farming practices.

History of our products

Vietti was founded in 1919 by Mario Vietti, who started producing wine from his vineyard in Castiglione Falletto. Initially, Vietti focused primarily on the production of Barolo wine, but has since expanded their range to include other wines such as Barbera and Dolcetto. Today, the winery is run by the Vietti family, who continue to maintain the traditions and quality of their wines.

Wine production

Vietti is known for their meticulous winemaking techniques that ensure excellent quality and taste. Here are some key points in their process:
  • Hand-picking grapes: Vietti insists on hand-picking grapes to ensure that only the best grapes are used in production.
  • Traditional fermentation: They practice traditional fermentation using natural yeast strains to bring out the unique characteristics of the grapes.
  • Aging in oak barrels: Vietti ages their wines in oak barrels for different periods depending on the type of wine, adding complexity and depth to the flavor.

Vine

Vietti produces a wide range of wines that represent the diversity of the Piedmont region. Here are some notable Vietti wines:
  • Barolo Castiglione: An iconic Barolo that is elegant and complex with notes of cherry, licorice and tobacco - 10-15 years aging.
  • Barbera d'Asti Tre Vigne: A fruity and juicy Barbera with soft tannins and flavors of ripe cherries and spices - 6-8 months maturation.
  • Dolcetto d'Alba Tre Vigne: A light and fresh wine with notes of dark berries and a pleasant dry finish - No oak aging.
