About the wine

Chiappini Le Grottine 2023 is a fresh and elegant white wine made exclusively from Vermentino grapes from the Bolgheri region in Tuscany. The wine appears light, straw yellow in color with green hues.

The aroma is dominated by sage and acacia flowers, which are characteristic of the Vermentino grape. The taste is fresh and harmonious with a pleasant minerality and a slightly salty acidity that gives the wine a delicate complexity.

A wine with a fresh, mineral character and subtle notes of spices, citrus, nuts and green herbs

Azienda Agricola Chiappini

Azienda Agricola Chiappini is a family-owned winery located in the heart of the Bolgheri region in Tuscany, Italy. The founder, Giovanni Chiappini, comes from a family of farmers from Marche who moved to Bolgheri in the 1950s. In the 1970s, Giovanni bought his first property and began growing various crops, including vineyards. Over time, wine production became the main activity and today the winery is run by Giovanni together with his daughters, Martina and Lisa.

Chiappini is known for their commitment to organic wine production, a practice they have followed since 2010. Their vineyards, spanning 11 hectares, are planted with grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese and Vermentino. The winery produces around 60,000 bottles annually, reflecting their focus on quality over quantity.

One of their most recognized wines is “Guado de’ Gemoli”, which in 2013 received the maximum 100 points from the American wine magazine Wine Enthusiast. This recognition has cemented Chiappini’s position as one of the leading producers in the Bolgheri region.

Chiappini’s philosophy can be summarized in the phrase: “The land is worth as much as the person who cultivates it.” This approach emphasizes their deep respect for the terroir and their dedication to sustainable and traditional winemaking.
