Azienda Agricola Chiappini is a family-owned winery located in the heart of the Bolgheri region in Tuscany, Italy. The founder, Giovanni Chiappini, comes from a farming family from Marche who moved to Bolgheri in the 1950s. In the 1970s, Giovanni bought his first property and began cultivating various crops, including vineyards. Over time, wine production became the primary activity, and today the winery is run by Giovanni along with his daughters, Martina and Lisa.
Chiappini is known for their commitment to organic wine production, a practice they have followed since 2010. Their vineyards, which extend over 11 hectares, are planted with grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese, and Vermentino. The winery produces approximately 60,000 bottles annually, reflecting their focus on quality over quantity.
One of their most recognized wines is “Guado de’ Gemoli”, which in 2013 received the maximum 100 points from the American wine magazine Wine Enthusiast. This recognition has cemented Chiappini’s position as one of the leading producers in the Bolgheri region.
Chiappini’s philosophy can be summarized in the phrase: “The soil is worth as much as the one who cultivates it.” This approach emphasizes their deep respect for the terroir and their dedication to sustainable and traditional wine production.
