Rhône

Rhône is a famous wine region located in France. It is known for its excellent red and white wines. The Rhône Valley stretches from the Swiss border to the Mediterranean Sea and is divided into two regions, namely the Northern and Southern Rhône. Both regions have their unique characteristics and produce high quality wines.

The Northern Rhône

The northern part of the Rhône is known for its elegant red wines made primarily from the Syrah grape. These wines have an intense color and a complex flavor that combines notes of black berries, pepper and spices. The most famous appellation in the Northern Rhône is Côte-Rôtie, where the vines are grown on steep slopes. It produces some of the world's most sought-after red wines + Côte-Rôtie + Steep slopes + Coveted red wines

The Southern Rhône

The Southern Rhône is known for its wide range of wines, including both red and white wines. The Grenache grape plays a crucial role in the production of red wine in this region. These wines are often fruity and spicy with soft tannins. Châteauneuf-du-Pape is the most famous appellation in the Southern Rhône and produces some of the most iconic red wines in the world.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Rhône red wine is known for its powerful character and complex flavor profile. Syrah is the dominant grape variety in the northern part of the Rhône, adding depth and structure to wines. The Grenache grape is more prominent in the south and gives wines a fruity character.

Red wine from the Northern Rhône

Red wines from the Northern Rhône are often intense and concentrated. These wines have a deep ruby red color and a complex aroma of dark berries, pepper and spices. They also have an excellent ability to mature and evolve over time. + Intense and concentrated + Ruby red color + Complex aroma

Red wine from the Southern Rhône

Red wines from the Southern Rhône are more fruity and spicy in flavor. These wines have a lighter color and a more approachable character. They offer notes of red fruits, spices and herbs that make them suitable to enjoy in their youth. + Fruity and spicy + Lighter color + Accessible character

White wine from Rhône

Although the Rhône is best known for its red wines, the region also produces excellent white wines. Rhône white wines are fresh and aromatic and made from different grape varieties.

White wine from the Northern Rhône

White wine from the Northern Rhône is usually made from the Viognier grape. These wines have a bright yellow color and a complex aroma of white flowers, peaches and apricots. They have a full-bodied taste with a pleasant acidity. + Light yellow color + Complex aroma + Full-bodied taste

White wine from the Southern Rhône

White wines from the Southern Rhône are usually a blend of different grape varieties, including Roussanne and Marsanne. These wines have a light yellow color and a fresh citrus aroma
