Domaine Coursodon is a family-owned winery located in the northern part of the Rhône in Saint-Joseph.
The winery is especially known for their incredible traditional craftsmanship.
Saint-Joseph is an area in the northern part of the Rhône Valley. The area has the perfect climatic conditions for growing the Syrah grape, with the combination of warm days and cool nights. The Coursodon family has solid roots in Mauves, dating back to the 1800s. Jerome’s grandfather, Gustav, was one of the leaders in organizing the Saint-Joseph appellation in the 1950s. In 1968, the appellation expanded from the original six communes to twenty communes stretching from Condrieu to Cornas, growing from the original 97 hectares around Mauves to its current 1,200 hectares. However, the new communes do not have quite the same granitic slopes that make Mauves in particular a special wine region. This soil gives Domaine Coursodon’s wines incredible complexity, depth, minerality and ageing potential.
