About the wine

Bond Estate Pluribus 2014 is a magnificent blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Merlot grapes sourced from Napa Valley. This Bond Estate offers an intense and complex bouquet of dark fruit, vanilla and sweet tobacco on the nose. Bond Estate Pluribus 2014 is rich with flavors of black currant, plum and espresso that lead to a long, silky finish. The tannins are velvety and well-structured, giving this wine great ageing potential. Enjoy it with rich meat dishes or aged cheeses.

Bond Estate Pluribus 2014 “The middle slopes of Spring Mountain provided a beautiful, long season to ripen Cabernet Sauvignon. It was the last site to be harvested in 2014. The first pick took place in late September and was completed in the second week of October. The late season picking was ideal, with more than a dozen harvest passes over three weeks. The aromas seem so closely related to the youth of this wine, primarily in development, but not details. On the palate there is a burst of energy, while the mid-palate has depth and a multilayered finish. Although Pluribus is often racy and more primal, this year it seems almost civilized. Its normal edge has been softened, but still hides more layers than will undoubtedly reveal itself with time.”

Producers

The name Bond refers to the Latin word for many, and was chosen to signify the different facets involved in creating a great wine: from the sun, soil and climate of a vineyard, to the team of people who guide a wine through its development. A stunning mountainous 7-hectare site with steep exposures to the north, east and southeast, the soil consists of volcanic bedrock. Pluribus, which debuted in the 2003 vintage, is defined as a bold, rich and concentrated wine; elements of dark plum, roasted coffee and scents of cedar are inherent throughout the vintages. The Cabernet Sauvignon wines from BOND are sourced from select hillsides and vividly demonstrate the range of Napa Valley’s finest terroirs. From the more than eighty vineyards we’ve worked with over the past quarter century, we slowly and carefully selected five sites. BOND became our covenant and shared commitment to produce only the best expression of the land. Using this valuable experience, we were able to identify select properties that we believed had the potential to define the ‘Grand Crus’ of Napa Valley. These small hillside Cabernet vineyards, ranging in size from 7 to 11 acres, became the foundation for BOND’s wines.
