History of Massolino

Back in 1896, the Massolino winery was founded by Giovanni in the village of Serralunga d´Alba. Giovanni's son Giuseppe and his sister Angela expanded the estate by buying more land and in 1934 they founded the Association for the Protection of Barolo and Barbaresco. Giovanni, Camilla and Renato, three of Giuseppe's children, now took the company to a new phase, thanks to the purchase of lands that have since become legends among wine lovers: Vigna Rionda, Margheria and Parafada. Today, brothers Franco and Roberto Massolino are in charge of Massolino with the assistance of their uncle Renato and Giovanni Angeli. Their work reflects a whole generation and the ambition of those who know they must give something back to the historic vineyard with its unique terroir, Serralunga d'Alba. In this picturesque medieval village, nestled on one of the magnificent hills of the Langhe area, in the heart of Barolo, the Massolino winery comes to life.
