About the wine

-Antonio Galloni Wrote:

“Montrachet Grand Cru 2018 comes from 0.9 hectares on the Puligny side between Romanée-Conti and Ramonet. It was picked on September 5th. It has an austere, focused bouquet with a subtle marine influence (oyster shells and heart shells). The palate is well balanced with admirable depth and a fine bead of acidity, but it doesn’t kick like some of the other Grand Crus tasted from barrel do. This is austere and serious“.

Founded in 1731 in Beaune by Michel Bouchard, Bouchard Père & Fils is one of the oldest wineries in Burgundy, maintaining traditions for almost 3 centuries and 9 generations. In 1775, Joseph Bouchard acquired the first vines in Volnay in the famous “Caillerets” climate and began building the family estate. His son, Antoine Philibert Joseph Bouchard, seized the opportunity of the sale of the goods of the clergy and nobility confiscated during the French Revolution to expand the estate with the purchase of several plots in Beaune, including the famous “Beaune Grèves Vigne de Barn Jesus”. The ambition to create a unique estate in the Côte d’Or crossed generations and new acquisitions in the most beautiful villages were added throughout the 19th century and again in the 20th century.
