Thierry Violot Guillemard, Beaune en Montagne Saint Desire 2017 MG

Thierry Violot Guillemard “Clos Des Mouches” 1 cru 2017 Beautiful color as Pinot Noir should be. On the nose there are strawberries, cherries, a little cask and a touch of minerality. Nice and easy to drink, lies well in the mouth with a medium-long finish.

About the wine

Thierry Violot-Guillemard Beaune “En Montagne Saint Désiré” 2017 is a refined and terroir-driven red wine from Côte de Beaune in Burgundy. This wine comes from a single vineyard in Beaune and shows how classic Pinot Noir can combine finesse, structure and complexity. Thierry Violot-Guillemard is known for his organic approach, minimal intervention and ability to highlight Burgundy’s unique terroir. The 2017 vintage was fruity, balanced and elegant, making this wine a ready-to-drink experience now, but also suitable for further cellaring. 2017 was a classic and balanced vintage in Burgundy, with pure fruit, fine tannins and great elegance. Color: Clear ruby red with a light rim. Aroma: Seductive aromas of red berries (cherry, raspberry), violets, forest floor and light spice from barrel aging. Taste: Silky smooth and well-balanced with fresh acidity, pure fruit notes and fine tannins. Notes of currants, wild strawberries, white pepper and a light minerality. Finish: Long and elegant with a slightly spicy finish.

Of the 321 hectares, approximately 116 hectares are 1ér Cru vineyards. There are no Grand Cru vineyards in Pommard, but there are 28 highly respected 1ér Cru vineyards. Red wine is produced almost exclusively from 100% Pinot Noir.
