About the wine

Grüner Veltliner Engabrunner 2022 is the essence of Grûner Veltliner, well balanced and elegant minerality. It captures the essence of the region, the strength of the soil and the unique character of this authentic Austrian grape. A solid craftsmanship with clear signatures of the Stein Schaden brothers. A journey of discovery for your taste buds.

The scent of blossoming lime trees and sun-dried fruits offers a pleasant acidity. It is full of character, exquisitely balanced and expressive. After careful hand-picking in October and November, the grapes undergo gentle pressing and fermentation in stainless steel tanks with natural yeast at low temperature. This highlights the unique terroir of the Ried Stein site.

After fermentation, the wine is transferred to large wooden barrels where it matures and unfolds its full potential with the fine fermentation. The Stein Schaden winery is family-owned and located in the southernmost part of the Kamptal, embracing the vineyards from the north at Schönberg along the river Kamp to the south at Engabrunn and Grafenegg. The different terroir conditions and microclimates of each parcel result in a range of wonderfully nuanced, authentic wines
