The story of Schubert Wines begins in 1998 when Kai Schubert and Marion Deimling, both graduates of the renowned German Geisenheim University of Viticulture and Oenology, decided to pursue their passion for Pinot Noir. After traveling and working at various wineries around the world, they finally found their ideal spot in Martinborough, New Zealand. In the spring of 1998, they purchased a small established vineyard and 40 hectares of bare land where they began planting various clones of Pinot Noir on 14 hectares. The philosophy behind Schubert Wines is clear: only healthy vines can produce perfect grapes, and only perfect grapes can produce excellent wines. That’s why they prioritize plant and soil care, always according to organic principles. It wasn’t long before wine connoisseurs around the world discovered their exceptional wines with character, complexity and balance. Today, 90% of the modest production is exported to 36 countries. As you explore our selection of Schubert wines, you’ll discover a wide spectrum of flavors and styles that will delight any wine enthusiast.
