Roble means “oak” in Spanish, and in this wine, it signifies aging in barrique for 5 months. It results in a wine that is ready to drink, with plenty of dark berries on the nose and in the taste. It has a really fine tannin structure that pairs perfectly with a piece of red meat or a dish with lamb.

Bodega Sarmentero is run by 2 women, Maria Lopez Repiso (Daughter) and Amparo Repiso Vallejo. Two remarkable women are behind the winery’s success and vision. With a deep passion for wine production and a strong commitment to creating exceptional wines, these two women have been the driving force behind Bodega Sarmentero’s progress and recognition.
The Sarmentero vineyards are located in the heart of Ribera del Duero, situated on limestone clay soils and planted 100% with Tempranillo grapes.
Maria and Amparo employ sustainable practices in viticulture and winemaking, taking care of both raw materials (grapes, vines) and the environment. Our non-aggressive practices and sustainable and natural approach to winemaking are reflected in their product: the wines reflect the weather conditions, climate, terroir, and soul of the region.
Bodega Sarmentero combines traditional production methods with modern techniques to create wines that express the authentic character and terroir of Ribera del Duero. Each wine undergoes careful selection, gentle vinification, and aging in oak barrels to achieve the perfect balance of fruit, structure, and complexity.
