About the wine

Sarmentero, Le Branch 2018. In the glass an intense red cherry color. On the nose notes of red fruits and forest fruits accompanied by spices, black pepper, typical of the Cabernet Sauvignon grape. Accompanied by aromatic wood and subtle hints of cocoa. In the mouth, Le Branch 2018 is full-bodied with structure and complexity, round tannins and good acidity. Lovely pleasant finish.

History : Small project by Maria Lopez Repiso that combines the personal and professional experience in Napa Valley with a return to the roots. A thank you to the “trunk” of the vine, the family from which the “branch” (Le Branch) emerges thanks to the love, passion and knowledge that has laid the foundations of this wine. Because the vine needs a branch to keep growing, and the branch would be nothing without that trunk.

Producers

Bodega Sarmentero is run by 2 women, Maria Lopez Repiso (Daughter) and Amparo Repiso Vallejo. Two remarkable women are behind the success and vision of the winery. With a deep passion for winemaking and a strong commitment to creating exceptional wines, the two women have been the driving force behind Bodega Sarmentero’s success and recognition. The Sarmentero vineyards are located in the heart of the Ribera del Duero, situated on calcareous clay soils and planted 100% with Tempranillo grapes. Maria and Amparo use sustainable viticulture and winemaking practices, taking care of both the raw material (grapes, vines) and the environment. Our non-aggressive practices and sustainable and natural approach to winemaking are reflected in their product: the wines reflect the weather conditions, climate, terroir and soul of the area. Bodega Sarmentero combines traditional production methods with modern techniques to create wines that express the authentic character and terroir of Ribera del Duero. Each wine undergoes careful selection, gentle vinification and aging in oak barrels to achieve the perfect balance of fruit, structure and complexity.
