Producers

Massimo Lentsch is a new winery located in Sicily on the northern side of Mount Etna.
More precisely, the winery is located in the prestigious area “Contrada Feudo di Mezzo”
Their first vintage was 2017. The people behind
Massimo Lentsch himself says this about his winery: My wine represents the culmination of a whole year of work in the vineyards, day in and day out, up to the harvest and the production and then also the maturation. He has chosen to name the vineyard after himself, as the wines should speak of his personality, his character and willpower to produce the very best. He has chosen to produce wines on the northern side of Mount Etna as it is the most suitable location for the type of wine he wants to produce, wines that focus on freshness and elegance, preferring good acidity to excessive tannins and high alcohol content. As he says, “I don’t want my wines to shout, but to whisper emotions in a language with a musical sound and rich in subtle details. The owner Massimo Lentsch is the owner of several wineries in Italy. In 2020, one of his wines from one of the other wineries was included in Robert Parker’s “TOP 100 Wine Discoveries 2020” which is a testament to his high quality and perfectionism.
The winery’s oenologist is the highly experienced and recognized Emiliano Falsini, who has extensive experience from many different wineries throughout Italy. The vineyards
Etna is not just a volcano. Etna is an ecosystem made up of many components and microclimates that vary not only thanks to the climate, but also due to the composition of the soil.
The soil is also the result of a series of layers that vary according to the history of the volcano.

In fact, the different lava flows have created soils with differences that have a significant impact on viticulture. Along with these factors, there is also the altitude that influences the cultivation of vines in this area.
The northern side of Mount Etna is truly the area where Nerello Mascalese has found the ideal cradle from which to thrive, grow and produce wines of great complexity.
