About the wine

Le Gode, Brunello di Montalcino 2017 DOCG comes from the incredibly famous Montosoli hill, which is the most optimal location in the Montalcino area. 2017 was an incredibly challenging and warm vintage. The consensus among wine critics was that the Brunellos from the Montosoli area had performed best in this challenging vintage. The wine has a powerful, deep and beautiful medium red color that turns red-orange along the edge of the glass. The aroma is intensely fruity but with the unmistakable and prominent for the Sangiovese grape so typical scent of clay pots and strong leather. The taste is dominated by fully ripe cherries, a stringent and clear minerality, baked tomatoes and clay pots. The tannins, as is often the case with Brunello wines, follow the flavor beautifully and linger in the mouth for quite some time. Drink 2024 – 2040

Producers

Le Gode is located on the world-famous Montosoli hill, which is said to be the very best growing area in the Brunello di Montalcino district. It has been in the hands of the same family since 1960. They produced their first Brunello di Montalcino in 1995. Their entire vineyard lies within the Brunello border, which means that their Rosso di Montalcino is also made with grapes from this highly sought-after area. In total, they produce around 20,000 bottles a year, divided between Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino and Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Montosoli. The winery is equipped with state-of-the-art technology at the service of a traditional production philosophy.
