About the wine

Founded in 1890, La Rioja Alta is one of the most respected wineries in the Rioja region. Gran Reserva 904 is named after the year 1904, when an important fusion between two wine families took place. This wine is only produced in exceptional vintages and reflects the house’s dedication to quality and traditional methods. 2005 was an outstanding vintage in Rioja. Ideal growing conditions with balanced temperatures and sufficient rainfall resulted in perfectly ripe grapes. Appearance: Clear and deep cherry red color with a slightly brick-colored rim, indicating the age of the wine. Aroma: Complex and elegant bouquet with notes of dried red fruits, balsamic notes, vanilla, coconut, chocolate and truffle. Taste: Well-balanced with silky tannins and a fresh acidity. Flavor notes include dried cherries, orange peel, spices and a hint of tobacco. The long and persistent finish leaves an impression of elegance and depth.
