About Gianni Brunelli Winery

In 1987, Gianni Brunelli realized his dream of returning to Montalcino by repurchasing his father’s historic estate, “Le Chiuse di Sotto”. This property has a special significance as a small part of the original vines, planted by Gianni’s father in 1947, are still preserved as a tribute to the family heritage. “Le Chiuse di Sotto is located northeast of Montalcino and consists of a contiguous estate of 5 hectares, of which 2 hectares are dedicated to the cultivation of Sangiovese, while the remaining 2.5 hectares are planted with olive trees that provide olives for the production of our extra virgin olive oil. In the mid-1990s, Gianni and Laura Brunelli expanded their wine production by purchasing the Podernovone estate, located on the south-eastern slopes of Montalcino. This estate comprises 4.5 hectares where Sangiovese is grown for the production of Brunello and Rosso and Merlot, which since 1997 has been used for the exclusive Amor Costante. Podernovone consists of four vineyards: Olmo, Oliva, Quercia and Gelso, each contributing to the unique flavor profiles of the winery’s wines. Today, Laura Brunelli and her dedicated team of family and staff are responsible for all technical and administrative aspects of the winery, ensuring that tradition and quality go hand in hand in every bottle of wine that leaves the property. Discover the history and passion behind Gianni Brunelli Winery, where tradition meets innovation and every bottle of wine tells a story of love for the land and craftsmanship.
