About the wine
Gaja Sori San Lorenzo Barbaresco 2016 DOCG.
Sori San Lorenzo Barbaresco is arguably the most recognized and prestigious wine in the Langhe region, and it is the result of Angelo Gaja’s dedicated efforts to maximize the potential of one of the Barbaresco appellation’s most exclusive vineyards.
In the old days, the sunniest vineyards were known as “Sorì,” ensuring grapes of exceptional quality year after year.
San Lorenzo is a true cru vineyard, where the grapes are carefully selected both in the vineyard and later in the cellar.
After a thorough fermentation process, the wine is aged for 12 months in barrique and then a further 12 months in large oak barrels before finishing its maturation in the bottle.
Sori San Lorenzo Barbaresco 2016 DOCG has exceptional finesse and refinement.
With a bright ruby red color, Sori San Lorenzo Barbaresco 2016 DOCG unfolds a complex bouquet of floral aromas with notes of red currant, raspberry, morello cherry and hints of citrus, aromatic herbs and spices.
In the mouth it is elegant, harmonious and subtly nuanced, with a fresh and balsamic finish.
