About the wine

Frédéric Magnien – Marsannay “Saint-Jacques” White 2019

Frédéric Magnien is a well-known winemaker with a passion for creating wines of the highest quality. He has dedicated most of his life to perfecting the art of winemaking and has established himself as a household name in Burgundy. The winery is known for its traditional approach and use of organic farming methods.

Marsannay “Saint-Jacques” Blanc 2019 has a light golden color with green reflections. On first impression, there are intense notes of citrus fruits, apples and flowers. In the mouth, the wine is fresh and tasty with notes of grapefruit, pear and a subtle minerality. The aftertaste is persistent and pleasant.

Marsannay “Saint-Jacques” Blanc 2019 is a wine that goes well with a variety of dishes. Its harmonious acidity and fruit notes make it ideal for seafood, including oysters and shrimp. It can also accompany light meats such as chicken or pork, as well as mature cheeses.

Marsannay

Marsannay has the distinction of being the only appellation in Burgundy that produces wines in all three colors: red, white and rosé. This unique characteristic gives Marsannay a special place in the hearts of wine lovers seeking variety and complexity.

The Marsannay area has a long history of wine production dating back to Roman times. However, it was only officially recognized as an appellation in 1987. This delay has not stopped Marsannay from flourishing and demonstrating that good wine requires time and care.

Marsannay’s red wines, primarily based on the Pinot Noir grape, are known for their structure and complexity. They offer notes of red berries, spices and sometimes a touch of minerality that reflect the unique terroir of the area. These wines evolve beautifully with age and are an excellent example of Burgundy’s ability to produce elegant and sophisticated red wines.

The white wines from Marsannay, mainly made from the Chardonnay grape, are fresh and fruity with a pleasant acidity. They exude elegance and finesse and are perfect accompaniments to seafood and fish dishes.
