An ancient record mentions that the excellent wine from this area was already being produced more than 160 years ago by the hands of the winegrowers of the Rillo family. The history of the winemakers of Fontanavecchia is inextricably linked to the Samnium region and its wines: Falanghina and Aglianico del Taburno. These two precious grape varieties have come back into fashion thanks to the constant efforts of the Rillo family and today are known worldwide; it is a story of ancient traditions and bold visions of the future, of passion, daily work and innovation.
