About the wine

The grapes for Domaine Joseph Scharsch Pinot Gris are carefully harvested from vineyards located on steep east-facing slopes, giving them the perfect amount of sun and cold required for optimal ripeness and complexity. On first impression, this Pinot Gris offers a seductive bouquet of juicy peaches, ripe pears and subtle floral notes. On the palate, the wine unfolds with a rich and round structure that balances between freshness and depth. Flavors of honey, nuts and spices are complemented by a pleasant mineral finish that leaves you wanting another sip. Domaine Joseph Scharsch Pinot Gris is the ideal companion for a variety of dishes, including seafood, chicken in creamy sauces or mild cheeses.

Domaine Joseph Scharsch, located in the picturesque town of Wolcheim in the Alsace region, is an authentic family estate dating back to 1965 when Joseph Scharsch and his wife Marie-Thérèse started the adventure. Today, the winery is proudly managed by Nicolas Scharsch, the 7th generation. On 11 hectares of land, stretching up steep slopes with a perfect exposure to the east and southeast, their vines thrive. Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris and Sylvaner are mainly planted, and their grapes ripen optimally under the brilliant Alsace sun. Domaine Joseph Scharsch is a name synonymous with exquisite, high-quality wines. By growing the grapes using traditional methods and hand-harvesting them, they maintain a dedication to excellence. Their vinification, including natural fermentation and maturation in oak barrels, contributes to the subtle complexity and well-balanced flavor profiles of the wines.
