The Delamotte family story is a beautiful tale of culture, passion and craftsmanship, and few places can tell this story as deeply as François Delamotte, a winemaker with roots deep in French tradition and expertise. From the sloping vineyards of France’s iconic wine regions, Delamotte creates wines that not only celebrate the past, but also hold the promise of the future.

The Delamotte family’s involvement in winemaking dates back to the 18th century, when the first steps were taken towards establishing what today has become a recognized name in the wine world. It all began with a passion for the land, for the grapes and for the unique process of creating wine. This passion was passed down from generation to generation and evolved into a true commitment to creating wine of the highest quality.

We’re going to the heart of France’s most famous wine regions where François Delamotte has access to some of the finest vineyards in the world. From the sun-drenched hills of Burgundy to the limestone slopes of Champagne, each vineyard is carefully selected to ensure the grapes ripen to perfection in the optimal conditions. The climate, soils and topography work in harmony to give the grapes their distinctive flavor and complexity.

In keeping with family tradition and respect for terroir, François Delamotte practices a gentle approach to winemaking. Every step of the process, from growing the vines to harvesting and fermentation, is carefully monitored and executed with care. Emphasis is placed on sustainability and respect for the environment, reflected in the use of organic and biodynamic methods wherever possible.

Once the grapes are hand-picked at optimal ripeness, the delicate process of fermentation and maturation begins. François Delamotte favors a blend of traditional and modern techniques to ensure that each bottle of wine expresses the best of its origin. Aging often takes place in cool, deep cellars where the wines are allowed to mature slowly and develop complexity and depth over time.

François Delamotte’s range includes a wide selection of wines ranging from fresh and fruity whites to complex and structured reds, as well as sparkling wines that celebrate the proud traditions of the Champagne region. Whether it’s an elegant Chardonnay from Burgundy or a refreshing Rosé Champagne, each bottle is an expression of meticulous craftsmanship and a deep understanding of the essence of wine.

For François Delamotte, the future is just as important as the past. While cherishing traditions and heritage, they are also constantly looking for ways to improve and innovate. From investing in sustainable growing methods to exploring new techniques and styles, the ambition is to continue creating wines of the highest quality.
