Collalto – Tradition and Elegance in Prosecco Superiore
Conte Collalto is one of the most historic and prestigious wineries in Veneto, located in the heart of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG. With a history spanning more than 1000 years, the winery combines deep tradition with modern innovation to produce high-quality sparkling wines. From classic Prosecco Superiore wines to elegant Extra Brut versions, Collalto represents the essence of the unique terroir of the Treviso area, where the Glera grape thrives.
The story of Conte Collalto
The Collalto family has been growing wine in the area since the 12th century, making them one of Italy’s oldest wine-producing families. Over the centuries, they have perfected their craft and witnessed the evolution of the Veneto region’s wine traditions. Today, the winery is led by Princess Isabella Collalto de Croÿ, who continues the family’s commitment to quality, sustainability and respect for the area’s historical heritage.
🌍 Terroir and Vineyards
Collalto’s vineyards stretch over 160 hectares in Conegliano Valdobbiadene, an area famous for its steep hills, optimal sun conditions and mineral-rich soils. The climate of the region is characterized by mild winters and warm summers, with cool breezes from the Dolomites helping to preserve the acidity and freshness of the grapes. The soil type consists of calcareous and sandy deposits that contribute to the finesse and minerality of the wine.
🍷 The wines of Collalto
Collalto produces a wide range of wines, with Prosecco Superiore DOCG at the heart of the portfolio. Their sparkling wines range from fresh and fruity Brut to more structured and mineral Extra Brut versions.
