Sangiovese
Its name derives from the Latin sanguis Jovis, “blood of Jupiter”. Sangiovese is used to produce some of Italy’s most famous wines, including Chianti, Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Morellino di Scansano. It has a medium body and lively acidity with flavors of ripe cherries and earthy spices.
