Mencia
Mencía is a red grape variety grown mainly in the northwest of Spain, especially in Bierzo, Ribeira Sacra, Valdeorras and in some parts of Galicia. This grape is also known in certain areas of Portugal, where it goes by the name Jaen. Mencía is known for its ability to produce aromatic, complex red wines that can vary greatly in style depending on the growing region and vinification.
