Domaine Giraud

In 1998, children Marie and François took over responsibility for Domaine Giraud from their parents Pierre and Mireille, thus ensuring the continuation of the domain. Father Pierre’s wine heritage goes back more than 600 years, so you could say that they have always made wine. The vineyard covers 35 hectares, of which 8 hectares belong to a single appellation in the Galimardes district. The Galimardes terroir is particularly known for its stony soil composition, which gives the wine its minerality and the heat collected from the stones contributes to the development and ripening of the grapes. On these soils, Domaine Giraud grows Grenache, Mourvédre and Syrah. And since the children took over the vineyard, they have focused exclusively on cultivating their fields organically, with the utmost respect for each terroir. In 2008, they were able to label their wine organic producer.
